In October of 2022 Marine Families was contacted by the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, in Tampa FL, to attend a planning meeting for the upcoming Toys for Tots campaign.  Little did we know the partnership that would be formed from this project.  We jumped right in full force and began on the mission.  The time spent, during the campaign, the bonds forged and the possibilities that became clear would launch us into a partnership with the Marines who work full time on the base and all the reservists who come for training.
Marine Families has "adopted" these local Marines and we are committed to being a vital part of their time spent here in Tampa and friendships that will last well past when they have to move along to the next stop on their journey.  Being at the base on a regular basis is key to personally interacting with them and learning their needs and how we can help or find other resources that can help out as needed.

In December we completed our volunteer portion of the 2022 Toys for Tots campaign.  In January & February the Marine Families Krewe of Semper Fi hosted many of the unit Marines to the Gasparilla Children's Parade, the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates and the Ybor City Knight parade.  Upcoming events include a Marine Families Birthday Celebration Car Show at the base, holiday events, homecomings, family days, helping with the units Birthday ball in November and many other ideas that we have in the works as we move forward in this new chapter.

This is a perfect time to connect or re-connect with the Marine Families organization if you would like to be a part of this incredible journey and all the wonderful volunteering and project opportunities that will be happening.
