The Run For the Fallen/Tampa Bay and the Florida Fallen Memorial honors Fallen Heroes from Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operations Enduring Freedom (OEF) (2003-2014).  During this event, we recognize Florida Gold Star Families who have lost an immediate family member as a direct result of serving in these conflicts.  Exceptions to this criteria may be considered by the Marine Families Board of Directors for the following reasons: (a) if a death results after treatment, due to direct combat injuries sustained during either of these conflicts;  or  (b) if an immediate family member(s) now resides in Florida and has a deceased loved on who meets either of the above criteria AND is a participant in the event.

The Florida Fallen Memorial display belongs solely to the Marine Families organization and operates on it's own established criteria.  Marine Families reserves the right to modify it's criteria at it's own discretion and is not governed by any laws, rules or regulations.

An exclusive cross in the memorial is representative of all military men or woman, who served in these conflicts, whose death resulted from suicide, triggered by PTSD, due to combat service.

While the Marine Families organization recognizes, honors and supports all Gold Star Families of any conflict or branch, the Run For the Fallen/Tampa Bay event and Florida Fallen Memorial is specific to Florida Gold Star Families of the OIF/OEF conflict period.
